How to Configure the AT&T WorldNet ISP

  1. If Outlook is running, click the File menu, and then click Exit.
  2. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the Mail and Fax icon, and then click Add. This starts the Internet Connection Wizard.
  4. Type your name in the Display Name box, and then click Next.
  5. Type your Internet e-mail address, for example, bobgreen@worldnet.att.net, and then click Next.
  6. In the Incoming Mail (POP3) box, type postoffice.worldnet.att.net.
  7. In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box, type mailhost.worldnet.att.net, and then click Next.
  8. In the Friendly Name box, type a name for the service (for example, WorldNet), and then click Next.
  9. Select the appropriate connection type as follows, and then click Next:


If you connect using a local area network, click I use a LAN Connection.

If you connect using a modem and have a WorldNet connection, click I use a modem to access my e-mail, and then click WorldNet in the Use an existing dial-up connection list. If you connect using a modem and want to use a different Internet Service Provider (ISP), select it from the list. If an appropriate connection does not exist, you can create one using the Add button.

  1. Click Finish.
  2. Restart Outlook.

How to Complete the "Connect To" Information

  1. On the Tools menu, point to Send and Receive, and then click your WorldNet account.
  2. Type the network access ID supplied by WorldNet, this will be a nine-digit number followed by "@worldnet.att.net," for example: 123456789@worldnet.att.net


  1. Type the Network access password assigned by WorldNet. This is usually in the form of two words separated by a hyphen.
  2. Click to select the Save Password check box.

NOTE: Your friendly name, e-mail name, and password (referred to in steps 4, 5, and 8 in the "How to Configure the AT&T WorldNet ISP" section), are all chosen by you. The Network Access ID and password (referred to in steps 2 and 3 in the "How to Complete the "Connect To" Information" section) are assigned by WorldNet.
