SYMPTOMS
When you click the Font list on the Formatting toolbar, you receive the following error message:
When you click OK, PowerPoint quits and all your unsaved work is lost.
CAUSE
This error message appears if you are running PowerPoint on a computer with Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, and the default printer on the computer is a network printer that is currently unavailable.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, add a local printer driver and set it as the default printer. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Double-click the Add Printer icon to start the Add Printer Wizard.
- Follow the instructions in the wizard to add a local printer.
- When the Add Printer Wizard is completed, right-click the newly-added printer and then click Set as Default on the shortcut menu.
