This article describes how to insert a hyperlink that opens a Microsoft Access 97 database table or query. Before you begin, you will need to know the following:
- The file name of the database
- The name of the table or query
Inserting a Hyperlink to a Microsoft Access Database or Query
To insert a hyperlink that links to a Microsoft Access database table or query, follow these steps:
- Open Word.
- On the Insert menu, click Hyperlink.
- Under "Link to file or URL," click Browse, select the database, and then click OK.
- Under "Named location in file (optional)," type one of the following:
- The word "table" (without the quotation marks), followed by a space and the name of the table you want to use.

- The word "query" (without the quotation marks), followed by a space and the name of the query you want to use.
- The word "table" (without the quotation marks), followed by a space and the name of the table you want to use.
- Click OK.
