Creating a Disk-based Root Web

  1. In FrontPage Explorer, point to New on the File menu, and click FrontPage Web.
  2. In Section 1 ("Choose the kind of FrontPage web to create"), click One-Page Web.
  3. In Section 2 ("Choose a title for your FrontPage web"), click Change.
  4. In the "Please specify a location for the new FrontPage web" box, type:

    <x>:\myweb

    Where <x> is the drive letter of the hard disk drive where you want to place the new web.

  5. Click OK in the Change Location dialog box.
  6. Click OK again in the New FrontPage dialog box.

NOTE: If the folder <x>:\myweb does not exist, click Yes when prompted with the following message:

The folder <x>:\myweb does not exist.

Creating a Disk-Based Subweb

In order to create a disk-based subweb in FrontPage Explorer, first create the folder for the root web. To do this, first see the "Creating a Disk- based Root Web" section of this article before proceeding.

  1. In FrontPage Explorer, point to New on the File menu, and click FrontPage Web.
  2. In Section 1 ("Choose the kind of FrontPage web to create"), click One-Page Web.
  3. In Section 2 ("Choose a title for your FrontPage web"), click Change.
  4. In the "Please specify a location for the new FrontPage web" box, type:

    <x>:\myweb\subweb

    Where <x> is the drive letter of the hard disk drive where you want to place the new web.

  5. Click OK in the Change Location dialog box.
  6. Click OK again in the New FrontPage dialog box.
