When you click Speak Selection or Pick Voice on the Tools menu while recording a macro, these actions are not recorded.

WORKAROUND

Microsoft provides programming examples for illustration only, without warranty either expressed or implied. This includes, but is not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. This article assumes that you are familiar with the programming language that is being demonstrated and with the tools that are used to create and to debug procedures. Microsoft support engineers can help explain the functionality of a particular procedure, but they will not modify these examples to provide added functionality or construct procedures to meet your specific requirements. To work around this problem, edit the macro created by the macro recorder to include one of the following Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications statements.

To Run Speak Selection

   CommandBars("Tools").Controls("Speak Selection").Execute

To Run Pick Voice

   CommandBars("Tools").Controls(2).Execute

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
