SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, if you preview or print a report, you may receive the following error:
CAUSE
This error occurs when all of the following are true:
- You print or preview a Task or Resource report.
- At least one task (task report) or one resource (resource report) has a large quantity of notes assigned to it.
- All of the following options are selected on the Details tab in the Report dialog box.
- Task notes
- Assignment notes
To locate the Details tab, click Reports on the View menu, select a report, click Select, select a report type, and then click Edit.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem turn off the option to print the Assignment notes:
- On the View menu, click Reports.
- Click the Custom preset. Click Select.
- Select the report you want to print.
- Click Edit.
- Under Assignment, click to clear the Notes check box.
- Click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
