SYMPTOMS

When you play Attack of the Mutant and you are navigating through a large open area, the top half of the screen may be displayed before the bottom half.

CAUSE

This occurs if you are using an older version of Matrox, Number Nine, or S3 display driver.

RESOLUTION

Use the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem.

Clear the Direct 3D Hardware Acceleration Enabled check box by following these steps:

  1. Insert the Attack of the Mutant compact disk into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Click Start, and then click Run.
  3. In the Open box, type the line below, and then press ENTER.

    <CD-ROM drive>:\setup\directx\dxsetup.exe

    Where <CD-ROM drive> is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
  4. Click the Direct 3D Hardware Acceleration Enabled check box to clear it.
  5. Click OK.

If you still experience the problem, change your Hardware Acceleration to Basic by following these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System.
  3. Click the Performance tab, and then click Graphics.
  4. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider until it is one notch to the right of None (Basic).
  5. Click OK, and then click Close.

If the problem continues, contact your hardware manufacturer to obtain an updated display driver.
