SYMPTOMS
When you create a hyperlink in a shared border, the hyperlink does not show up in Hyperlinks view or Hyperlink Status view.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because shared borders are stored in four files located in the _borders folder, which is a hidden folder. The four files are:
top.htm bottom.htm left.htm right.htm
All hidden files or folders do not appear in FrontPage Explorer by default.
RESOLUTION
To view the files that are stored in hidden folders, follow these steps:
- Open a FrontPage Web.
- On the Tools menu, click Web Settings.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click to select the "Show documents in hidden directories" check box.
- Click OK.
- Click Yes when you are prompted to refresh the Web.
You will now be able to see hyperlinks in shared border files when you use either of the following views:
- Hyperlinks view
- Hyperlink Status view
