Wizard Does Not Warn of Invalid Mycomp.htt or Controlp.htt File

Article ID: 174792

Article Last Modified on 1/2/2000

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit 4.0

This article was previously published under Q174792

SYMPTOMS

In the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) Wizard, at the screen that allows the user to specify a custom .htt file for the My Computer and Control Panel folders, you can type the path to any file into either field and click the Next button without getting an error message. If the path you typed points to an HTML file with a name other than Mycomp.htt or Controlp.htt, the file will not be renamed and included in the installation. The default .htt files will be used instead.

RESOLUTION

You can type the path to a directory in the fields for specifying these files. The wizard checks in this directory for the appropriately named file, and if it does not find the Mycomp.htt or Controlp.htt file in the specified directory, it displays an error message.
