With the Friends Online feature in MSN, you can create a list of friends and then receive notification when your friends are online and send private messages to them. To configure the Friends Online feature, use the following steps:
- In MSN, click Friends Online on the Communicate menu.
Click Add People To Your List.
NOTE: If you have already added one or more MSN members to your list of friends, click Add Friends.
- Under "Search for a friend to add," type the appropriate information about your friend in the Last Name, First; E-mail Name; City, State/Province; and Country boxes, and then click Search. Note that an entry in either the Last Name or E-mail Name box is required.
- Under Search Results, click the check box to the left of the correct name to select it.
- Click Add This Person.
- If you want to add more friends to your Friends Online list, click Add More Friends, and then repeat steps 3-6. If you are finished adding friends, click Done.
