Network Installation of PowerPoint 97 Missing Tabs and Templates

Article ID: 170348

  • Microsoft Zero Administration Kit for Windows NT Workstation 4.0

This article was previously published under Q170348

When you install Microsoft PowerPoint 97 as part of a Windows NT Zero Administration Kit (ZAK) Appstation configuration, you see only the Content, Designs, and WebPages tabs in the New Presentation dialog box. Because of the missing tabs, there is no blank presentation template.

The Blank Presentation.pot file is hidden.

Unhide the Blank Presentation.Pot file in the Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates folder. This must be done using an account with administrator privileges.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
