SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98 or later, pressing the space bar no longer clears the date for a task. For example, in Microsoft Project 4.1, if you select the Actual Start date for a task and press the space bar, the date changes to a value of NA. In Microsoft Project 98 or later, if you select the Actual Start date for a task and press the space bar, the original date is reinserted in the cell.
RESOLUTION
To clear the date for a task, select the date, and then do any of the following:
- Press DELETE.

- Press BACKSPACE.
-or-
- On the Edit menu, point to Clear and then click Contents.

- Press CTRL+DELETE.
