SYMPTOMS

If you use America Online (AOL) to connect to the Internet, you may experience a number of Time Out messages, or if you are using the AOL browser, you may receive a message that asks you to use Microsoft Internet Explorer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve the issue, follow these steps.

  1. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop.

  2. Click Properties, and then click the Connection tab.

  3. Under Proxy Server, click to select the “Access the Internet using a proxy server” check box.

  4. In the Address box, type the following line, and then click OK:

    http://ie3.proxy.aol.com
