SYMPTOMS
If you are using the Microsoft Windows Printing System and you try to print from Microsoft Project 98, you may receive the following error message:
THis error message is followed by the following error message:
CAUSE
You receive this error message when you are using a printer driver that was written for Microsoft Windows 3.x (16-bit). Some of these drivers are based on the Windows Printing System, such as drivers for the Canon Bubble Jet printers, or drivers based on the Adobe Postscript (P.S.) 3.01 driver and the Adobe Acrobat driver.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, use any of the following methods:
- If a Microsoft Windows 95 driver for your printer is available, use that driver instead.
- If your printer can emulate another printer, use the other printer's driver. For example, many Canon Bubble Jet printers have an Epson Printer emulation.
- If your printer is based on the Adobe P.S. 3.01 or the Adobe Acrobat driver, obtain the latest version of that driver.
STATUS
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
For additional information about how to obtain and install SR-1, see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
