SYMPTOMS

A General Protection Fault (GPF) occurs when you expand links on a link off of a page name that contains Double Byte Character Set (DBCS) characters. This error occurs in the Japanese version of Visual InterDev 1.0

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This bug was corrected in VisualStudio 97 Service Pack 1.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Open a project in the Japanese version of Visual InterDev.
  2. Right-click an .htm file that contains DBCS characters in its name, and then click the Japanese equivalent of View Links from the context menu.
  3. Right-click one of the links in the View Links dialog box, and then click the Japanese equivalent of Expand Links.
