SYMPTOMS

When you use the following Visual Basic for Applications macro code to apply an inside line width to a selection,

   With Selection.Borders
      .InsideLineStyle = wdLineStyleSingle
      .InsideLineWidth = wdLineWidth075pt
   End With
                

the following error occurs at the .InsideLineWidth statement regardless of the point size specified for the inside line width:

Run-time error '5843': One of the values passed to this method or property is out of range.

To work around this problem, use the following code in place of the code described in the "Symptoms" section of this article:

   With Selection.Borders(wdBorderHorizontal)
      .LineStyle = wdLineStyleSingle
      .LineWidth = wdLineWidth075pt
   End With
                

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
