SYMPTOMS

After you start Setup, you may receive the following error message

Setup cannot access the required initialization file D:\acmsetup.exe

where D: is the CD-ROM drive letter.

CAUSE

Some real-mode (16-bit) CD-ROM drivers cannot read long file names. The Greetings Workshop 1.0a compact disc contains long file names.

RESOLUTION

Use a protect-mode (32-bit) CD-ROM driver. An updated CD-ROM driver from the hardware manufacturer may correct the problem.

STATUS

Greetings Workshop 1.0b does not contain long file names. Some real-mode drivers may still exhibit this behavior.

Greetings Workshop is designed to run with Windows 95 using protect-mode drivers. Although some real-mode CD-ROM drivers will be able to use the Greetings Workshop 1.0b compact disc, other real-mode CD-ROM drivers may continue to exhibit this error.
