APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft DreamWorks Interactive Goosebumps Escape from Horrorland

This article was previously published under Q161130

SYMPTOMS

On some computer configurations the video playback is choppy. For example, during the introduction in Werewolf Village the videos move very slowly and appear to freeze, or the audio breaks up.

RESOLUTION

The video performance of Goosebumps: Escape from HorrorLand is almost solely dependent on the performance of the CD-ROM drive. Use the following troubleshooting steps to test and/or improve CD-ROM performance.

  1. Test CD-ROM performance and file transfer rate. Anything below minimum configurations will be choppy.
  2. Increase CD-ROM performance by turning CD-ROM caching off or changing the configuration.

For more information, please see the following article(s) in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

140583 How To Configure CD-ROM Caching For Windows 95

  3. Update the CD-ROM driver.
  4. Increase the amount of free disk space.
  5. Turn off all TSR programs and CD-ROM add-on programs or Power Toys.

For more information about how to perform these tasks in Windows, see your Windows printed documentation or online Help.
