WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Automap Pro for Windows, versions 1.03, 1.06, 1.08, and 1.09

SUMMARY

Automap Pro can be installed on any network that supports the Microsoft Redirector Standard. When you perform a network installation of Automap Pro, the common program files are installed to the program directory (by default C:), and each user has their own user subdirectory.

MORE INFORMATION

To install Automap Pro on a network, do the following:

  1. Insert Disk 1 into the floppy drive.

  2. On the File menu in Program Manager, click Run.

    -or-

On the Windows 95 Start Menu, click Run.

  3. On the command line, type the following and click OK:

    <drive>:

where <drive> is the letter of your floppy drive.

  4. Enter your name and company information when prompted. You also need to enter your Installation number (located on a sticker on the front of Disk 1).

  5. Click OK.

  6. If this is the first time you have run the Network Install utility, you must first install the 1 User License. Once this has been done, the program is network “aware” and can be configured to comply with your specific requirements.

  7. Once you have installed the 1 User License, additional licenses may be purchased from the installation screen. To purchase additional licenses you need to call the number on the screen to have them unlocked. When this has been accomplished, you need to select the New option, and then click Install to add the additional licenses.

  8. Run the Install utility to install the program files. Make sure you install the program files into the same directory where you have installed the network licenses.

Installation Notes

If you have already installed Automap Pro and any additional Automap products and later wish to convert them for use on a network, you need to reinstall everything, beginning with the Network.exe program.

If you have Automap Streets with any unlocked maps, you need to reinstall the program then unlock the maps again. Do not attempt to restore the purchase details from a backup diskette; this destroys the network information written by Automap Pro.
