How to Type Special Characters in a Macintosh Document

SUMMARY
In Microsoft Excel, you can use key combinations to insert special characters in your text. Note that in the examples below, the special characters that are inserted are based on the assumption that you are using the Geneva or Helvetica fonts.

To insert the copyright symbol in cell A1 of a worksheet:
- Select cell A1.
- Press Option+G.
The Copyright symbol should be displayed in Cell A1.
The following table lists other common characters you may want to use in a worksheet.
