SUMMARY
In Microsoft Excel, it is possible to create a circle by using the Ellipse tool on the Drawing toolbar. It is also possible to create a square by using the Rectangle tool on the Drawing toolbar.
MORE INFORMATION
To create a circle, use the following steps:
- If you do not have the Drawing toolbar displayed, click Toolbars on the View menu. In the list of toolbars, click Drawing, and then click OK.
- On the Drawing toolbar, click the Ellipse button.
- Press and hold down the SHIFT key. With the SHIFT key depressed, click the sheet (the place where you click will be where the upper-left portion of the circle will be positioned).
- Drag the crossbar down and to the right to draw the circle.
The circle on your worksheet should now be selected.
To resize the circle, do the following:
- If the circle is not selected, click the circle to select it.
- Position the insertion point over one of the circle's handles such that the crossbar changes to a double-headed arrow.
- Press and hold down the SHIFT key and drag the double-headed arrow until the circle is the desired size.
Squares can be created and resized using the same steps above; simply substitute the Rectangle tool for the Ellipse tool.
