Manually Installing Music Central
- Create a folder on your hard drive named:
Music Central 96.
- Insert the Music Central compact disc into the CD-ROM drive.
- Copy the following items from the Music Central compact disc to the folder you created in Step 1:
- Music Central 96
- Microsoft Multimedia Catalog
- Read Me
- Locate and open the Install Files folder on the compact disc.
- Locate and open the System Files folder on the compact disc.
- Copy all the items in the System Files folder to your System folder on the hard drive. When you are prompted to place items into specific folders, click OK.
- Close the System Files folder on the compact disc.
- Locate and open the Fonts folder on the compact disc.
- Copy the MS Reference font and the Arial font from the compact disc to the System Folder on your hard drive. When you are prompted to place items into the Fonts folder, click OK.
- Close the Fonts folder on the compact disc.
- Locate and open the Lists folder on the compact disc.
- Copy the two items from the Lists folder to your Macintosh desktop.
When you are prompted with the alert indicating items cannot be moved to the desktop, click OK. The items My Collection and Wish-List are copied to the Macintosh desktop. - Close the Lists folder on the compact disc.
- Close the Install Files folder on the compact disc.
- Close the Music Central 96 window.
- On your hard drive, locate and open the System Folder.
- Locate and open the Preferences folder.
- Create the following new folder:
Music Central Folder
- Copy the following items from your desktop to the Music Central Folder.
- My Collection
- Wish-List
- Close all your windows and restart your computer.
- Start Music Central from the hard drive.
