SUMMARY

When you enter a value and work units (minutes, hours, days, or weeks) in the assignment Work field in a Task Form or Resource Form, if the entered work represents the same number of minutes as the original entry, it reverts to the original value and work units.

MORE INFORMATION

To reset the default work, use the following steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click the Schedule tab, and select the work units from the Show Work In list.

The Work field in Task and Resource tables always displays work using the default work units. If you enter work with different work units, it reverts to the default work units, converting the value to the equivalent amount of work based on the default work units.

The assignment Work field in a Task Form or Resource Form also uses the default work units when assignments are created without entering work; however, if work with different work units is entered, it will keep the new work and work units, provided the new work represents a different number of minutes than the original work.

To change the assignment work units in a Task Form or Resource Form while keeping the equivalent number of minutes the same, do the following:

  1. Enter an assignment work value and new work units that is not equivalent to the same number of minutes as the original work.
  2. Enter the assignment work again using the new work units and a value that is equivalent to the original work.

For example, suppose that the work for an assignment is displayed as 60m in the Task Form. To get it to appear as 1h, first enter 2h (or anything not equivalent to 60m) and click OK, and then enter 1h and click OK.
