SUMMARY
When you troubleshoot communication problems in Money, you may need to generate a Modemlog.txt file. This file records a log of your communication sessions.
This article describes how to generate the file.

NOTE: Because there are several versions of Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, please consult your product documentation to complete these steps.
To generate a Modemlog.txt file, follow these steps:
- Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Modems.
- On the General tab in the Modem Properties dialog box, select the modem you are using.
- Click Properties.
- On the Connection tab, click Advanced.
- In the Advanced Connection dialog box, make sure the Record A Log File check box contains a check mark.
- Click OK and then close the Modems Properties dialog box.
- Close the Control Panel.
The Modemlog.txt is now generated whenever you use your modem in any application that relies upon the Windows 95 Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI). Modemlog.txt is put in Windows directory.
NOTE: If you find that the Record A Log File check box already selected, you should rename the existing Modemlog.txt file. This way, you collect information from only one communication attempt.
