SYMPTOMS

When you print preview or print all modules, Microsoft Project may hang (stop responding) or crash.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if any unhidden module has not been activated during the current Microsoft Project session and you choose to print all modules.

NOTE: You can successfully print the current module.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the following steps to make each unhidden module active before you attempt to print all unhidden modules:

  1. On the View menu, click More Views. Select Module Editor, and click Apply.
  2. On the View menu, click Toolbars. From the list of toolbars, select Visual Basic. If there is a Show button above the Close button, click the Show button. Click Close.
  3. Select each module listed in the Module list.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.

MORE INFORMATION

When the Module Editor view is active, clicking Print on the File menu offers a choice to print All Modules or the Current Module. Current Module refers to the module currently displayed in the Module Editor. All Modules refers to all unhidden modules. Modules can be hidden or unhidden by clicking Module on the Edit menu.
