IRIX

The information in this article applies to:
- Softimage Toonz for IRIX, version: 3.5

SYMPTOMS

Toonz refuses to do a Tmovie.

CAUSE

The images are too big (2K resolution, for example), or the scene is too long or has too many levels (25 levels and 950 frames, for example). In all cases, the main reason is memory. There is not enough memory to do the Tmovie.

RESOLUTION

Here are some things to try:

  • Scale down the images. This is the easiest, fastest, and least expensive solution. On the Build menu, click Tmovie, and select a reduction value of 2 or more.
  • Do the Tmovie for the active level only instead for all levels.
  • Change the range (select a smaller range) on which you wish to see your Tmovie.
  • Add more memory. This is an expensive solution.
  • Buy a Cosmo Board for compression. This is also an expensive solution.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
