Hairlines Almost Invisible When Printed to HPCL Printer
Q138685
-------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher for Windows 95, version 3.0 -------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== Hairlines are almost invisible when they are printed to a 1200 dots per inch (dpi) or higher-resolution printer that uses the Hewlett-Packard Printer Control Language (HPPCL). Many of the Lexmart Optra printers have this capability, and, therefore, these printers may exhibit this behavior. If you print to a 1200 dpi or higher-resolution PostScript printer, the hairlines are fine (very thin), but they are visible. This behavior is correct: hairlines are supposed to be very fine lines. WORKAROUND ========== Practically every printer that supports 1200 or higher dpi output has a PostScript emulation. To display hairlines, print your publication using the PostScript emulation of that printer.
