SUMMARY

You can export data from Microsoft Money to use with programs that are capable of opening and working with tab-delimited ASCII text files. This article explains how to save your data in a text format.

To export information from your Money file in a text format, follow these steps:

  1. Start Money, and open the file that contains the data to export.

  2. Go to Reports.

  3. Select the report you need, and click Go To Report/Chart.

    NOTE: If necessary, click the Customize button to change the report information to receive the results you want.

  4. In Money 99, right-click the report and then click Export from the shortcut menu. In earlier versions of Money, click the Export button.

  5. In the Export Report dialog box, type a file name in the File Name box, and then click OK.

You will now have a tab-delimited text file that you can use in programs that support text files.
