The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Money version 3.0, 3.0a

SUMMARY

Transactions related to your investments are not removed from your Money file during archiving. This occurs in split transactions that contain more than one Buy Investment transaction. This may happen even if you choose to remove all transactions from all accounts.

Open Investment transactions might not be archived, either. Open transactions are transactions that contain information necessary to calculate your currently held investments’ value or performance

RESOLUTION

To ensure that your transactions is properly archived, remove the Buy Investment transactions from each split transaction and re-enter them as separate transactions.

MORE INFORMATION

When you archive a file that contains investments, open transactions are never removed. In some cases Money is not be able to remove any transactions for an open investment because it needs the date of each transaction to correctly differentiate between long-term and short-term capital gains.

Money should have no problem archiving closed investments, such as a stock in which all of the shares have been sold.
