SYMPTOMS
If you install Publisher for Windows 95 or Microsoft Publisher 97 into the same directory as Publisher 2.0, Publisher Setup leaves the Publisher 2.0 shortcut.
If you double-click the Publisher 2.0 shortcut, however, it starts your new version of Publisher.
RESOLUTION
You can remove the unwanted shortcuts manually. For more information, please see the Windows 95 Help topic titled

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Publisher version 3.0 for Windows 95 and Microsoft Publisher 97. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
