SYMPTOMS
When you change modem settings using the Modems tool in Control Panel, the settings do not apply when you dial The Microsoft Network.
CAUSE
The modem settings that you select using the Settings button on The Microsoft Network Sign In screen override the settings you select using the Modems tool in Control Panel.
RESOLUTION
To change modem settings, click the Settings button on The Microsoft Network Sign In screen, then click Modem Settings.
