Memory Leak in SiteIns and Windows NT Server 3.51

SYMPTOMS

When you run the Systems Management Server SITEINS process, a memory leak occurs in Windows NT Server 3.51. This can be detected by tracking ProcessBytes, MemoryPaged Bytes and PageFile%Usage.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the site server has child sites reporting to it. This leak is very slow, but can cause problems if the server is not shutdown periodically.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Systems Management Server version 1.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
