SUMMARY
The installation of Microsoft Bob changes or adds the following lines to the Win.ini file, usually located in the Windows folder:
[MSAPPS] MSAPPS=C: MSINFO=C: PROOF=C: GRPHFLT=C:
[MS Proofing Tools] Spelling 1033,0=C:.DLL,C: PROOF_AM.LEX
[MS Graphic Import Filters] Computer Graphics Metafile(.CGM)=C:.FLT,CGM Tagged Image Format(.TIF)=C:.FLT,TIF PC Paintbrush(.PCX)= C:.FLT,PCX
[MS-BOB] UtopiaDir=C:
[Microsoft System Info] MSINFO= C:.EXE
[MS Setup (ACME) Table Files] HOME.EXE@v1.0.0.XXXX=C:.STF *Where XXXX is a four digit number.
[WinG] <video driver><configuration>=<results of video test>
NOTE: Changes made to the [WinG] section depend on the current Windows video driver. Bob does not write the [WinG] section if the operating system is Windows 95. The WinG functionality has been replaced by the dibeng.dll (display subsystem) in Windows 95.
MORE INFORMATION
The [MS Proofing Tools] section is updated only if an existing spell engine isn’t referenced.
The [MS-BOB] section assumes that you installed Microsoft Bob to your C drive.
