- Microsoft Bob version 1.0

SYMPTOMS

White text may not appear on the screen in some Microsoft Bob applications. If text does not appear, but the cursor moves when you type, the default color for window text may have been set from black to white.

RESOLUTION

To reset your text color to black in Microsoft Windows, follow the steps below. For more information, see your Windows printed documentation or online Help.

  1. Exit Bob.
  2. From the Windows Program Manager, double-click the Control Panel icon (usually located in the Main program group).
  3. Double-click the Color icon.
  4. From the Color Schemes drop-down menu box, select Windows Default.
  5. Choose OK.
  6. To close the Control Panel, press and hold down the ALT key while you press F4 on the keyboard (ALT+F4).
  7. Restart Microsoft Bob. Text should appear normal.

When text color is set to white, you may not see text you’ve typed in the following Bob modules.

  • Address Book: New addresses.
  • Letter Writer: The name of a new document
  • Checkbook: Payee names and other new text
  • Financial Guide: When you name a new list
  • Household Planner: When you name a new list

This is most noticeable in Address Book, which uses the Windows default text color. The Windows Color Schemes Hotdog Stand, LCD Reversed - Dark and Plasma Power Saver set the Window text to white.
