PROJ4: Full Date Range Not Selected in Resource Usage View |
Q128706
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project for Windows, version 4.0
- Microsoft Project for the Macintosh, version 4.0
SYMPTOMS
When you select resource records in the Resource Usage view of a project that shares its resources with other projects, the full resource assignment range may not be selected. (Note that selecting this range is particularly important if you are trying to copy the information to another application.)
CAUSE
When you make the selection in the Resource Usage view, Microsoft Project is using the current project's start and finish dates as the minimum and maximum dates to be considered.
WORKAROUND
To copy both a resource (or group of resources) and the entire timescale data for that resource (or resources), do the following:
- In the resource usage table, select the resource name(s) that you want to copy.
- From the Edit menu, choose Copy (Cell).
- In the Copy Resource Usage dialog box, select Table and Timescale, and then enter the date range desired. Choose OK.
- Paste the data using the normal method.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
