SYMPTOMS
If you click an online image hile viewing an HTML document in Web Browse view, a protected document becomes unprotected. If you are using the Web Browse view to complete an online form, clicking the image will cause the form to become unprotected; thus, when you enter information into one of the form fields, your text will replace the form field. This behavior does not appear to happen in Internet browsers such as Netscape or InternetWorks.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
RESOLUTION
Do not click images while in Web Browse view.
If you do click an image while in Web Browse view, you must re-protect the document before entering text. Use the following steps to accomplish this:
- From the View menu, choose HTML Edit.
- From the View menu, choose Web Browse.
