PRB: Input Mask Wizard Uses Example from Wrong Country

Article ID: Q127979
Creation Date: 22-MAR-1995
Revision Date: 01-DEC-1996 The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Access version 2.0, 7.0 97

SYMPTOMS

Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

When you are using the Input Mask Wizard, the sample Zip code or Postal code does not seem to be appropriate for the country in the example. For example, you see a U.S. Zip code instead of a Canadian Postal code.

CAUSE

The Input Mask Wizard uses an example that is appropriate for the country specified in the Regional Settings (in Windows 95) or International tool (in Windows version 3.x) in Control Panel. If you have not specified a country in the Regional Settings, then the Country setting is set to United States by default.

RESOLUTION

You can change the regional setting so that the Input Mask Wizard uses an appropriate example.

For more information about how to perform this task in Windows, see your Windows printed documentation or the Help Index.
