SYMPTOMS
If you try to open an Aldus Persuasion 2.1 presentation in PowerPoint 4.0 for the Power Macintosh, you may receive the following error message:
Sorry, this file is not a PowerPoint presentation.
You may be able to open the same file using the standard Macintosh release of PowerPoint 4.0.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you do not have the following items in your Extensions folder:
QuickTime QuickTime PowerPlug
STATUS
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
RESOLUTION
Install the QuickTime and QuickTime PowerPlug extensions from your System CD-ROM or floppy disks and then restart your computer. The Persuasion converter will work correctly.
NOTE: The Persuasion converter that ships with PowerPoint for the Macintosh (that is, the non-Power Macintosh version) does not require the QuickTime or QuickTime PowerPlug extensions.
