WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project for Windows, versions 3.0, 3.0a, 4.0

SYMPTOMS

When Resource Usage data, formatted as Cost, is pasted into Quattro Pro v5.0, it is interpreted as text data, not numbers. You will not be able to add these values until they are converted into number format.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow the appropriate procedure for your version of Microsoft Project.

For Project 4.0

  1. Select the international settings in the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Change the number format so that there is no thousands separator.
  3. In Project, choose Options from the Tools menu, and select the View tab.
  4. Use a blank as the currency symbol.

For Project 3.x

  1. From the Options, menu choose Preferences.
  2. Change currency symbol to a blank.
  3. Change the thousands separator to a blank, and choose OK.

MORE INFORMATION

The products included here are manufactured by vendors independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding these products’ performance or reliability.

All versions of Microsoft Excel and Lotus 1-2-3 v4.0 interpret the normal currency format correctly when Resource Usage is pasted.
