XL5: Update Option Doesn't Change when Using Multiple Links |
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0
SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel, if you change the Update option for multiple links selected in the Links dialog box, the option changes only for the last link in the selection.
CAUSE
This behavior is caused by a redraw problem in the Links dialog box, and does not affect the functionality of the link. For example, if you select three links in the Link dialog box, and you change the Update option to Manual, only the update option for the last link that you selected changes to Manual. However, the Update option actually does change to Manual for each of the links that you selected.
WORKAROUND
To refresh your screen when you change the Update option for a selection of links in the Links dialog box, do either of the following:
- Select any of the links in the Links dialog box
-or-
- Choose OK. The next time you choose Links from the Edit menu, the correct update option is displayed for each link.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in a later version of Microsoft Excel.
