XL5 Err Msg: "Cannot Access MSQUERY.EXE" Under OS/2 2.x |

SYMPTOMS
If you are running Microsoft Excel 5.0 under IBM OS/2 version 2.x, and you attempt to access Microsoft Query by choosing Get External Data from the Data menu, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot Access MSQUERY.EXE
CAUSE
This error message occurs if you run Microsoft Excel version 5.0 in a seamless window under IBM OS/2 version 2.x.
WORKAROUND
Microsoft Excel version 5.0 must be running in Windows full-screen mode in order for MSQUERY.EXE to be accessed by choosing the Get External Data command on the Data menu.
To configure Microsoft Excel version 5.0 to run in full-screen mode, do the following:
- In the OS/2 Desktop, locate the Microsoft Excel version 5.0 for Windows icon.
- With the mouse pointer on the Microsoft Excel icon, press the right mouse button to display the menu for the icon.
- From the menu, click the arrow directly to the right of the Open option, and then choose Settings.
- Select the Session tab to display the session options.
- Select the WIN-OS/2 Full Screen option.
- Close the Settings window by double-clicking the Close button in the upper-left corner of the Settings window.
