SUMMARY
When you save a file in Microsoft Excel, the Summary Info dialog box may be displayed after you choose the OK button in the Save As dialog box. Choosing the Cancel button in the Summary Info dialog box cancels any changes you made to the Summary Info information; choosing this button does not cancel the Save or Save As operation (that is, the file is still saved).
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
In Microsoft Excel you can save summary information with your files. To enter information in the Summary Info dialog box, do either of the following:
From the File menu, choose Save or Save As (the Summary Info dialog box may be displayed so that you can enter the information).
-or-
In Microsoft Excel version 5.0:
- From the File menu, choose Summary Info.
In Microsoft Excel version 7.0:
- From the File menu, choose Properties.
In both cases, a Cancel button is present in the Summary Info dialog box. And, in both cases, when you choose the Cancel button, the changes you made to the summary information are abandoned; however, in the second case, the Save or Save As process continues, and the file is saved (although changes made to the summary information are not saved).
Once you choose the OK button in the Save As dialog box, the file is saved.
