BUG: HIERSVR Example from Visual C++ 1.0 Causes Internal Error

1.50 WINDOWS kbtool kbbuglist ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - The Microsoft C/C++ Compiler (CL.EXE), included with: - Microsoft Visual C++ for Windows, version 1.5 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) Technical Note 41 discusses porting MFC/OLE 1.0 applications to MFC/OLE 2.0. A section of the technical note discusses the HIERSVR sample. If you try to build the HIERSVR sample from Visual C++ version 1.0 under Visual C++ version 1.5, the C/C++ compiler generates the following error message: c:\...\svritem.cpp(283) : fatal error C1001: internal compiler error (compiler file 'msc1.cpp', line 585) STATUS ====== Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed above. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. This problem does not occur in Visual C++ version 2.0. MORE INFORMATION ================ The sample code required to reproduce this problem is the HIERSVR sample from Visual C++, version 1.0.
