PRB: AutoCenter Property Does Not Center Form Vertically

Article ID: Q115186
Creation Date: 19-MAY-1994
Revision Date: 01-DEC-1996 The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Access versions 2.0, 7.0, 97

SYMPTOMS

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

When you set a form's AutoCenter property to Yes, the form is not centered vertically in the window. It appears to be a little higher than the middle of the window.

CAUSE

The vertical center for a form is defined as 1/3 from the top and 2/3 from the bottom of the window.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

AutoCenter determines whether a form will be centered automatically in the application window when the form is opened. Horizontal center is defined as equally distant from each side. Vertical center is defined as 1/3 from the top and 2/3 from the bottom of the window.

You can set the AutoCenter property in the form's property sheet or by using a macro or code.
