SYMPTOMS

When you are backing up the Windows NT\System32 directory in a batch mode, the Windows NT Backup program (NTBACKUP.EXE) may generate a message indicating that it cannot open the log file BACKUP.LOG.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1.
