SYMPTOMS
When you print from MS-DOS-based applications under Windows NT, the last page of a print job is not printed until it is forced out by the first page of the next print job.
CAUSE
The Windows NT print queue does not automatically send a Form Feed (FF) character at the end of each spooled print job sent to the printer. Print jobs from applications that do not include a FF character are not ejected from the printer automatically.
RESOLUTION
WINPRINT.DLL was changed to print a FF after each print job sent to a print queue of Data Type TEXT. If the printer is shared, you must stop sharing and re-share it after you change the data type or the change will not take effect. You can also restart the server to make this take affect.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1.
