SUMMARY

When you create a new menu item to run a macro, the menu item becomes available to all open workbooks. When you close the workbook that builds the menu item, the item is removed from the menu for all remaining workbooks.

For example, if BOOK1.XLS contains a custom menu item on the File menu, that same custom menu item will be available in BOOK2.XLS, as long as BOOK1.XLS is still open. If BOOK1.XLS is closed, the custom menu item will be removed from the File menu.
