  • Microsoft Windows NT Server version 3.1
  • Microsoft Windows NT Workstation version 3.1
  • Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server, version 3.1

SYMPTOMS

When you run Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0 under Windows NT, the insertion point may disappear and when you switch to another application then switch back to Word for Windows using the ALT+TAB key combination, the document window does not get repainted.

CAUSE

This problem occurs only when you enable WordPerfect Help and press CTRL+HOME, which is the key combination for the Go To command in WordPerfect.

This problem does not occur under Microsoft Windows 3.1 or Microsoft Windows for Workgroups.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem and to access the Go To command, press ALT+E. This key combination selects the Edit menu and automatically scrolls to the Go To option.

The insertion point returns to the window and Word for Windows functions as it should.
