SYMPTOMS
If you try to customize the toolbar while editing a Works 3.0 Spreadsheet module object in-place from a different application, you will receive the following message:
After you choose Close, the system stops responding (hangs) and you will need to restart the machine.
RESOLUTION
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works version 3.0 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Works version 3.0a for Windows.

Steps to Reproduce Problem
NOTE: Make sure you don't have any unsaved documents open before completing these steps.
- Create a new Works 3.0 document.
- Disable the toolbar by choosing Toolbar from the View menu.
- From the File menu, choose Exit to close Works.
- Start another application that supports in-place editing with OLE 2.0, such as Publisher 2.0.
- Insert a Works 3.0 Spreadsheet or Chart object (in Publisher, this is done by choosing Insert Object from the Edit menu).
- With the Spreadsheet object active for in-place editing, open the View menu and note that the toolbar is not available.
- From the Tools menu, choose Customize Toolbar.
You will receive the message:
If you choose the Ignore button numerous times, you may exit the error message and see portions of the application screen but may not be able to work in it. If you choose the Close button, you will receive the following message:
Choosing the OK button exits the error message but may hang the application in which you are currently working.
