SYMPTOMS
Open and read access to the file WFWSYS.CFG on a LAN Manager server is denied.
CAUSE
In Windows for Workgroups 3.11 you can administer certain configured security features located in the file WFWSYS.CFG. The file can exist locally or on a remote computer. When WFWG is started, a null session is established to the server/workgroup client where WFWSYS.CFG is located and the security settings are initialized.
If WFWSYS.CFG is located on a LAN Manager server, open and read access is denied due to the null session imposed by OS2/LAN Manager.
WORKAROUND
Install WFWSYS.CFG on the local machine.
